He was still showing/winning with his SSH as late Nov '12... Has he just stopped breeding them?
Erek told me about the Polish himself. I may have misunderstood him regarding the Hamburgs. I don't believe he showed them at the Congress but its totally possibly I made a mistake when we were talking. Yellowhouse will know sooner than I since I won't see him till the 17th of the month. Either way, if he has them I got a pm about being a catalyst. Will do.
I just got a request for some good old fashion H chickens DOMINIQUES. Does anyone on this thread know who got some from NEW YORK REDS when he had them. Let us know. Bob
Mike Stichler in Ohio has nice Doms. I might even still have his email. Enthusiastic about his birds and nice to boot.

I did. I won them in an auction. Yes, I spent $225 on an auction for 20 Dominique eggs. Some said that is crazy - why would you take that risk? Are they golden eggs? No, but if I had to drive to his place to pick up a trio, if he was selling, it would have been WAY more than that.

Mr. Post sent me 39 eggs, a generous surprise. I hatched out 21 chicks that ended up being $10.71 per chick a bargain when you think about it. I hatched out over 100 chicks last year from the best pair and trio. Toe punched. Then I took the best pullets back to the sire and cockerel back to the hens. Bob thanks to this thread I had a good plan of what to do. And thanks to Mr. Post for the auction and generosity.

It was a good way to get a start - it was a lot of $ up front but sometimes you have to take a gamble.

Here is a photo of some of last year's birds. I just love them.

Don't tell Erek. lol

I would like to butt in with a request for help and a question. Firstly, does anyone have the link to a page covering Asil/Aseels? Second, regarding same breed; Is the pelvic spread part of a contribution to why a bird, like the Aseel/Asil, lays so few eggs?

Some strains do seem to lay very few eggs, but mine are generally excellent winter layers.

I' m assuming after reading the article on Asils that even one pair of these fascinating birds would need to be penned separate from other breeds. Although the article sites an example of the cock being able to pick out another Asil from a mixed flock, wouldn't the pair be a possible danger to the other breeds?

It was suggested that I keep them separated however I am considering using a cock Asil over my Orloff hens to create black Orloffs. I figured it could help the type of what I have as well. I just worry about the temperament change. Orloffs are known to be docile and Asil not.
