Boy Jamie I could not have said it better. I was thinking of our article that you wrote for the Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club Newsletter. I have to attach this thread to many emails when people ask me about mr. hogans method. He was dead on and helped so many breeders push their chickens to egg laying limits. However during the R O P days of egg competion they innored breed type and color and that is how we develped the production side of poultry chickens.
Got to go to work keep it coming I am happy to see the Deleware bird. Do what Jamie did and in time you will see progress as well. bob

I took some pictures of my Heritage Reds (the girls anyway) today. I don't have many, but it's a start, I hope. I thought I would post a few.

What beautiful color and type! You have such excellent stock Kathy, and I mean of ALL your birds! Just add another to your list.

That you for the kind words.
As you know it has been a uphill climb for me and this line of Reds.
I did get to talk to Tim Bowls at a county show I was showing at and he was judging and I do believe that we may have the feather condition figured out.
I do hope to keep improving on this line, and as of now it is a closed flock.

My goal is to continue working on this line and also start working on the the Single Comb that I have the 3 three hens that I have as you know are from Dennis Myers and I believe that I have a Rooster coming from Tim Bowls that tim says will cross well with Dennie's old stock. Keeping my fingers crossed and time will tell...

Rose Comb Reds are getting hard to get and like you said "For every Rose Comb there is Ten Single Comb Heritage Reds".

I dont want anyone calling a barred rock a Dominecker.

A man after my own heart! That's one of my pet peeves. When someone around here asks me if my birds are Domineckers and I tell them, no, they are Barred Plymouth Rocks, they look at me like I have three heads, LOL.

Duane Urch in MN and Dave Anderson in California have good ones. I don't see them often though.
