I am not wanting to be rude at all, but I think it in the best interest of this great thread to keep duck discussions on a duck thread.

In my opinion the thread has a lot of good info and it would be a shame to get it so off track that no one will want to reference it. Sorry if I offend

Have been getting some request for New Hampshire chickens so I put a picture I have in my data base for you to see what they should look like. When breed correctly the males are as pretty to me as a Light Brown Leghorn. There is a movement to restart the New Hampshire Club of America on another site. If you are interested in joining this club and rasiing these birds send me a personel message on this site. I think this would be a good way to locate stock, eggs and chicks for you who are interested.

While I am on this subject of rare breeds I got a email from a lady today who listed her breeds that she owns and she is a master at shiping eggs by two day priorty mail. I have learned a few things from her and going to try getting some eggs to us down here to work on three rare breeds. Sincle Comb Rhode Island Reds, Rouen Ducks, Barred Plymouth Rocks and maybe Colubian Plymouth Rock large fowl after I get my good friend his eggs first. Sending me personel messages does help and I can get back to you in a hurry.
I even have a lady in my home state of Washington who has some pretty fair Rhode Island Whites who sent me a personel email. I bet there is no more than 50 of these birds alive today trying to look like Rhode Island Whites. So if you heard some one wanting this color pattern I found a person who has them.

Well got to go outside and wash five white chickens. Next weekend is our little show and I like to allow the birds to dry and get thier oils back into their feathers befor I take them to a show.

Of all of you who get on to this thread how many of you show your chickens??????

Its a lot of fun and its like a family reunion each year at the Poultry Barn for us.

Thats all right. Can someone send me a personel message where the good duck or goose threads are. There is so much stuff on here I just dont have time to look at it all. Is there a Call Duck Thread? Or a thread for show ducks. Not ineterested in hatchery waterfowl. Thanks bob

Couple of pics fromour Lebanon IN Show. The White Rock that won was hands down the best bird. My Buff avatar pullet did me right with a BB and best of Class. I couldn't be anymore proud of her. When I seen this White Rock I knew it was over. A Mrs. Weer was the proud owner of the Show winning White Rock. And on cue, I approached and have a tentative order with her for a nice White Rock to get mine a quality girl to play with.
I took plenty of pics some were good and some were iffy with the lighting.
A truelly great White Rock

I believe Rick Bond had the best RIR

Best Variety Blue Orp, (6 month ole)

I gotta plaque that says Champion English

Boss did not win variety. Russ Milkey's Black Orp hen kicked his butt. BUT, Paul Montieth liked him and my Reserve Buff winning 6 month ole cockerel. Paul also does White orps and we plan on doing some trading next year with our White orps

Good job with the buff! She is a fine bird. That BR does not have crisp barring, head is too narrow and the comb is off. I could probably add more if I could see the bird better. Paul Montieth is a great judge. I don't remember if I told you this, but John Monaco does not have white Orps now.

Walt,

Thank you for asking John. I had a nice long chat with Paul way after the Show. He too has a small flock of Whites. He is now promising some to bring to the Crossroads Show a few to share with us diehard Orp breeders in the lower 48. Paul is hinting he wants to get some Buff Cochins too. I told him IF he doesn't have any by Crossraods, I'll load him up with some of Rouen Deorr lines I have.
He and Doug both agreed that this Buff cockerel, who was a last minute substitute for the fighter who was scratched, maybe my best Buff cockerel.
I did not get any good pics of him at the show. But popped off a few in the cage in the truck bed when I pulled up tonite.
Paul liked this boy alot. I guess he will be a good one to take to my buff pullet.
