What happens if you say Heritage Standard Breed Poutlry. Such as White Face Black Spanish, Buff Leghorns, Rose Comb Rhode Island Reds, Black Minoricas, White Cochins, Blue Andulsions, all breeds today have maybe 75 to 100 birds left that are true to breed they may not score 90 points out of a hunderd by a judge but they are from the olden days of poultry. I have a 1964 APA standard of perfections from my boy hood. If the chicken, duck or goose is in this book he is Heritage as far as I can see. It seems folks want to add breeds that cam over here latter in the 1960s or 70s. These may not fit into this area.
If they are standard breed birds and they come out of this standard they are Heritage. If they are breed and raised and sold by catalogs and feed strores these are commerical type birds and to me do not follow this kind of subject. A good breeder would take 20 years to take some of these birds and make them score 90 points out of a hundred.
I miss the old breeds just not enough people interested in keeping them going anymore. bob
