Thank you Walt. I have some youngsters growing out. This Fall, I want to assess all the Dorkings and decide which are best for breeding. I would so appreciate your help.
Bob, I couldn't tell/decide whether this guy has better type than my other males. That's why I asked, since Walt has seen one in person and photos of some of my hens. The lady that had this guy has some very chunky birds, all good weight, but not quite right in shape.
There are many more places to get Silvers this year than last, but I haven't found any breeder with cockerels that look good. I think I'm going to stick with with the strains that I have and see what I can do.
I used to be happy with my flock until I got the SOP. Now I see every bird has good parts and bad parts. It's difficult to figure out which are best. I know to look for type first, but the differences are subtle at this point.
