Glad I'm not alone. I've got a hatch coming off as we speak. Don't always do this but it works out well for bantams for the spring shows.

I had no idea! The largefowl are busting the eggs out right now. I can't get them to stop? The white bantams are the only bantams laying. Figured as long as they're laying, might as well try and get a good male and better females as well.

I do wonder how the bantams will develop now that you mention it!

Thanks! The bird's breeder was worried if he shipped yesterday, the birds might get stuck in the Post Office without delivery on Thanksgiving Day. So he rescheduled to ship next Monday with arrival here on Wednesday , the 28th. So we wait again. Lotsa pics when they get there, VBG.

I posted these over on the Dorking Club thread and it was suggested that I post them here too. Here are some of our 2012 silver gray Dorkings at about 7 mos. The two pullets won Reserve Champion Large Fowl in the junior division of the Virginia Poultry Breeders Association show last week (they are DD's), and Tim Bowles, the judge, told the show secretary that they were very good and DD should hang onto them. We are encouraged!

2012 cockerel

One of my German New Hampshire cockerels took Reserve Champion in the American Class at the Tucson Poultry Pigeon and Fancy Fowl Club show this past weekend! This was only my second show. It was so nice to see him up there on Champion Row! Here is a photo:

One of my Mohawk Rhode Island Red cockerels beat 8 other RIR cockerels for Reserve Breed.
There were about 200 large fowl entered and about 1000 birds total in the show.

The photo doesn't do him justice. He is even more colorful in real life. Looked great on Champion Row. Congratulations, Marcia!
