Lara glanced around the woods then moved with Jaxson towards the cloaked ship. She wanted to keep him safe and wasn't certain how many shooters there were here.

Donella stayed where she was a minute, covering them from where she was before slowly following when they seemed to have the shooter under control. She wasn't so sure about going to the alien ship, but she wasn't going to leave her sister unless she had to.

Kaaras urged the group of kids he was shielding towards the ship, having just left it he knew exactly where it was. He was kind and gentle to them knowing they were probably scared.

Skyler seeing Erin and knowing her to be in charge moved towards her. "Got here just in time I see. The ship is over there." She said pointing to where Kaaras was leading the kids up a shimmering slightly translucent ramp before disappearing into the cloaked ship. "My team and I can cover you guys to get the wounded and kids on board. Then I will get the ship started for takeoff while a few of you hold off gunfire. Sound like a plan?" Skyler asked Erin making sure they were all on the same page before things got worse.

She glanced over her shoulder to a strangely white-haired girl. And did something about her eyes seem... off? "What? Plan? Oh yes, thank you." She said, not quite paying attention. Where was Ezor? It wasn't like he blended in around here. They needed to leave now. The last thing she wanted was to cause a war with the space orcs... Erin shook her head. You are one of those space orcs, dummy! She thought. They are called humans. Get it right.

She turned back to the white-haired girl. "I-I've lost one of our crew." she said, starting off toward the rocks, "I'll be back as soon as I can locate him." Rocks crunched as ran off, "If something happens, take off without us!"

Solana seeing that Star was wounded and that River would need help getting her to the ship moved to help. When she got to them she crouched down, "Alright River lets get your sister on board before the shooting starts again. I saw where the crew of the ship came from so I know where to go." She slid one arm under one side of Star so that River could get the other side and they could carry her to the ship.

"No..." Star groaned, "I've had worse, really. I just need a turnakit, I'll be fine." She winced as the two hoisted her to her feet. Blood dripped out on the ground.

"Good eye Solana." River said. She slid one arm under Seekers other arm and slowly as to not catch Ryans eye and see them got up

"Where are you taking me?" Star said, feebly trying to walk on her own.

Ryan didn't even notice what was going on. The Melæian towered over him. His hand started to tremble as he held the button. "This." He coughed, "is the trigger to a mine, right beneath us. If I go, you go. So don't try anything funny."

Ryan fell over, green blood pouring out if his side. He held his hand up toward the Melæian, and a grin twisted onto his face. "You want... to fight me?" He said between gasps of air, "You're going... to get more than... you expected." He gripped the button, and sat himself upright. "This button," he shook it, "will kill both of us... if I need it to. Think a bit before you move."

(You don't have to change anything. Besides, humans are pretty fearsome themselves)
The gunfire stopped. Erin spun in every direction. Were they retaliating? She took the chance, "Everybody get back to the ship! Take the wounded with you!" She ordered. She glanced to Star and River, shook her head and waved for her to come, too.

"Wait, where's Ezor?"

Ezor eyed the boy carefully. "You're bluffing. You wouldnt do it," He spoke sternly, keeping the tip of his ray gun pointed at Ryan. "I see your hands trembling; you're afraid. And you seem to be a feral, so why not just fly off like the chicken you are?" He said with a smirk, testing his opponent, and tilted his head at the wound on Ryan's side.

Narti fumbled with her gun, and gripped it tightly. She stood still while she listened for any signs of life. After she failed at detecting anyone, she began to blindly stalk around rocks in search for the sound of breath or anything, really. She kept a sneer upon her face with confidence, disguising any traces of fear she had.

The man snickered, "Y-you think I'm the only one?" He pulled his knees under himself, "I've already been shot, soldier. My life is over." He began to shrink, his clothes wrinkling where there was no longer a body to hold it up. "But if you want," said a child's voice, "You can finish me off."

He lifted his freckled face for Ezor to see.

"But this time? Do it right."

Frosty circled the girls, watching for the one who was trying to shoot them. He seemed to have disappeared, but the rooster was still careful. "Are you really going to bring Star?" he asked River and Solana. "I saw Erin hit her with the mind-erase-thingy. I don't think she'll appreciate you bringing her on the ship."

Star blinked. What. Was that. "That's a chicken..." she must be hallucinating. There was no way that that chicken just spoke.
Crow flew over to Skyler. He transformed into a human. "I saw the combatant. There is only one." he said, looking around.
She shook her head. No... no, no. That boy was never a crow. He just came over here quiet-like, right? Right. In her nervousness she began to sing under her breath, "I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell."

Erin kicked into a run. The hollow tones of the voice translator still ringing in the air. "Ezor?" She said as loud as she dared. Then a second voice as she rounded a boulder.

"Y-you think I'm the only one?"

Erin skidded to a hault, and her eyes widened. Above her, in a patch of rocks, Ezor had the terrorist at gunpoint. So it had only been one human doing all this. She marched forward. Perhaps mild torture would be allowed for this one. Then she saw the blood.

Her heart skipped. Flashback. A child's doll left in the road, settlements burning, innocents screaming. A human soldier, posted on the edge of the settlement, turned on his buddy in the midst of the blaze. One bled red. The other did not.

"Ezor, get out of there!" Erin screeched as she charged forward. The mleæian turned to her, something like a smile on his face.

The ground erupted. White flashed before Erin's eyes. The force blew her back.

Shards of rock. The ground. Ears ringing. Numb. Shaking.

And the smile on his face.

Frosty spun around, What just happened?! Was that an explosion? he thought as he ran toward the explosion. "Erin!" he squeaked as he came to her, "Are you all right? What just happened?!"

Donella ducked behind a tree at the explosion, hiding there for a moment. "What was that!?"

Lara stopped and looked back then to Jaxson "That can't be good."

She hugged her knees and rocked back and forth. His smile kept running through her mind. If she looked up, would there be bits of him strewn on the ground? Her face grew hot, but no tears came. Hadn't she just spoken to him? "Ezor." She whispered. It still felt like would come. "No. No, no, no, NO!" She screamed into her knees. She lifted her head and was about to shout, when she noticed the chicken.

At once her face softened. "Oh. Rocky, I didn't see you there." She rubbed her face and took a deep breath. "The gunman was Feral." She glanced away so the chicken wouldn't she her face. Her voice shook. "Ezor had him against a rock and... something happened. A mine or grenade, I don't know."

Looking at anything besides Frosty, she noticed something. Shakily, she got to her feet and walked a few paces. Her muscle trembled as she scooped it up, the sand filtering through her fingers as she did so. Ezor's translator. She stared at it a bit. It didn't feel right in her hands. It felt hallowed, now.

She thumbed a button, issuing static.

"We should get to the ship." Erin mumbled. "I lost two of my crew. I can't bare to lose any more."
