Star blinked. What. Was that. "That's a chicken..." she must be hallucinating. There was no way that that chicken just spoke.
She shook her head. No... no, no. That boy was never a crow. He just came over here quiet-like, right? Right. In her nervousness she began to sing under her breath, "I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell."

Erin kicked into a run. The hollow tones of the voice translator still ringing in the air. "Ezor?" She said as loud as she dared. Then a second voice as she rounded a boulder.
"Y-you think I'm the only one?"
Erin skidded to a hault, and her eyes widened. Above her, in a patch of rocks, Ezor had the terrorist at gunpoint. So it had only been one human doing all this. She marched forward. Perhaps mild torture would be allowed for this one. Then she saw the blood.
Her heart skipped. Flashback. A child's doll left in the road, settlements burning, innocents screaming. A human soldier, posted on the edge of the settlement, turned on his buddy in the midst of the blaze. One bled red. The other did not.
"Ezor, get out of there!" Erin screeched as she charged forward. The mleæian turned to her, something like a smile on his face.
The ground erupted. White flashed before Erin's eyes. The force blew her back.
Shards of rock. The ground. Ears ringing. Numb. Shaking.
And the smile on his face.
