Bonded (a planetary RP)

(So, Linda is human extraordinaire of the ship, so she takes care of feeding, caring for, and healing dem. She can also answer any questions the aliens have about human wierdness.)
(Erin's got some basic navigation skills)
(Star can kind of do some hand to hand combat. Never really picked up a gun, or wanted to. She's kind of funny about that.)

Erin rapped on the metal door frame just outside the control room. "Captain?" In the chair, white hair flowed over the back, reminding her of the girl who had first directed her to the ship. Her eyes flitted up to the screen. This was about the spot where Patches usually switched into autopilot. She could stand to be bothered now. "Progress report."

***

Five to ten days was a long time to wait. How deep in space could they be by then? She glanced around the room, and was in the process of asking where they were going when the ship lurched into motion. Fortunately, Linda had finished the stitching by then. She rolled over to face River "Erm, so if we're related, what does that mean? Do you want, like, a copyright or something? A cut on the profits of the products with my face on them? I can get your name on stuff, I guess." She might as well bring it out in the open. If she was so insistent of their relationship, there had to be a reason and a catch, right?

***
After Linda had rinsed the needles and put the box away, she pulled two syringes out of the cabinets, and approached River with one. "Roll up your sleeve?" She asked, crouching down to get a get a better angle on her shoulder.

(I later found that you actually don't have to stitch something up for like three days, and bullet wounds don't need to be sewn up, but maybe Linda doesn't know that. And plus the exit hole would be the only one needing stitched, and it would be in her butt judging by the angle of the shot...)

(Cool, so did we decide on whether or not the Melee are a race of cat people? )

Skyler heard the knock and swiveled her chair around so she could face Erin. She had set the ship into FTL and it would continue on course to the destination she had put in before dropping out of FTL so it was fairly safe to leave the console be. She knew Erin had been responsible for the crashed ship, although she should have had a partner. Since she hadn't seen a giant Huronian around her she had assumed he had died in the crash. She had not asked about it, giving her a short time to grieve and then tell her what happened. She had planned to seek her out and get a report of what happened but Erin had saved her the trouble. "So care to explain what happened to your ship?" She asked fixing Erin with her golden eyes as she folded her hands in her lap.

Nemra surprised him by uncoiling her tail from his neck and flying over to Lara and landing gently on her shoulder. He had only seen her do that a handful of times without being told to, it meant she liked this woman a fair amount. He took the freedom to bend down and grab his cloak, draping it over his arm. "She likes you. And she is very much like a cat, lots of similarities there. We are both from Melee, or at least we were both born there. I was raised mostly off a cargo ship, I returned to Melee once I was on my own and found Nemra." He told her simply, he wasn't sure he wanted to delve further into his life then just the basics he had told her just now. He found he was sharing more easily then he normally did, he wondered briefly if it was due to being alone for so long, now that he had someone to speak to found it easier to do so. He would have to test this while on the ship. He also didn't care to show her how he knew how many similarities Nemra had with a cat.
:)lol: I got that reference. Yeah, whatever you want to do. I can't seem to find any furry aliens. Just Furry aliens....)

Clenching her jaw, she nodded. She had already practiced her opening statement, but when the girl turned around, she forgot it all. No matter how many times a Feral popped up, she always flinched. Some kind of base fear, seeing something that registers as human, but knowing it not to be. She supposed the reverse of this could be likened to fear of clowns.

"We gave a weapon to an initiate who was not quite ready. A shot was fired into the helix thrusters, and the others began to overcompensate. We were thrown towards Earth, and we were unable to reach the control board." The more she thought about it, that little red-headed brat had set her off, too. Something she hadn't quite noticed, or could put her finger on. She pushed it aside. No. Couldn't be.

"When we crashed, first seargent Grxnrr," she swallowed hard and tried not to think about it, "was found deceased."

"On the ground, we were bombarded. First with cameras," the moment it came out of her mouth she regretted it. There was no greater taboo than to let the humans know of alien existence. How many movies were there of wars starting due to similar situations? They could easily be viewed as child snatchers, though no one cared for these children there, anyway. "Which we neuralized," she continued, "And then with bullets."
(Remember how I said she came up with the name Patches, because she couldn't pronounce his real name? Well, it's all consonants. Grxnrr.)

(Hey, we have one alien species that never heals, why not have one that heals extremely fast? Like, humans are fast, but wouldn't it be cool to have someone stab an alien? Like, you got three seconds to pull the knife out or else all you're left with is a rusty handle.)
(Imagine an alien having to defend their human for the first time, to repay them or something. They're not used to being brave, but the one thing humans are bad at fighting is a bigger human. So the mugger throws a knife and hits the alien dead in the chest and she doesn't even flinch, just stares him dead in the eye like you did not just do that. And there's this creepy noise and the knife handle slowly disintegrates as the skin heals and the hilt just clatters onto the floor. Like, you don't mess with a human's alien, and you don't mess with an alien's human. It's my idiot. Mine.)

"Melee" Lara tried the new word curiously even as she looked at the dragon on her own shoulder. Donella wouldn't believe she had a dragon sitting on her shoulder, it was too cool. She chuckled softly and kept petting Nemra. "Is Melee like Earth? How many occupied planets are there? How many intelligent species have you come across?" She had so many questions, but made herself stop after those three. She didn't mind letting him keep a bit of personal information to himself for now, everyone needed their secrets from strangers. They were still relative strangers despite how comfortable she felt around the pair.

(If the alien could heal really fast, what would be the point of having a human bond?)

Worf laughed then grew silent "I`m sorry about your crew." he said to Erin "Narti if we`er going we better get to the bridge," he said

"It was Ezor's. If..." she tried to think up a nice word, but all that came to mind was 'incarceration'. She would probably be held accountable for the ship, the deaths, and the loss of new initiates. She would probably be put in handcuffs the moment she landed. As a matter of fact, she had her duty to report everything to the captain...
"... if I am unable to attend his funeral." She finished.
Ah, Ezor was the Melee's name... Narti paused for a quick moment before answering Erin, "Don't worry, you'll be there. If needed, I'll take the fault for everything that went wrong." She assured her with a shrug, giving a forced smile. She felt the ship lift off, "Well, it seems like Skylar took care of getting the ship moving. So Worf, how about you talk to this human. I'm going to get myself some coffee or something." She said, making an excuse to leave. Narti liked to flee from any conversation that involved bothersome emotions, really, it was one of her flaws. Although before she could leave, a weight crashed into her.

Jaxson was looking at Ezor translator intently and hadn't realized he was leaning in towards it and the alien holding it. When the ship jolted just a bit he lost his footing and fell into Narti. He made a startled grunt and then hauled himself up right and gave her a nervous look. "I am so sorry." He mumbled at her, hoping this new alien wouldn't be mad.
Narti was caught off guard and tensed at the collision. She pulled her hand into a fist but calmed when she heard Jaxson's voice, guessing it was just a human. She laughed at her ridiculousness, though was slightly disappointed she couldn't throw a few punches. "You're half the weight of some of the Siri I fight. Are you one of the new humans?" She questioned with a suppressed laugh.
( I was wondering how you were going to role with all that. I made sure to get Jaxson in there in a not so graceful manner. He still has no clue she is blind as he hasn't seen her face yet, I am trying to rack my brain for how he is going to handle that. :pop )
(I think I handled all those posts well- or maybe not- not sure.
I actually love how ungraceful he was, haha, and it will be quite interesting how he reacts to her blindness.)

(Ok awesome I will let you know what I have planned for Dorian before I reveal him in his post to anyone just so we can be on the same page. My idea was to have him essentially be a bipedal cat person. So this is what I have in mind in terms of body shape and build..

(Found that on Pinterest, love that site, could never draw that good.)
He is going to have a different color and pattern obviously. Then I though it would be neat if maybe had some sort of spines, like a dragon going down his back or something else to make it more alien. Ideas, suggestions? Otherwise I will just make him a simple cat person. )

Skyler listened to the report, making mental notes about things to ask about or elaborate on. When Erin was finished she stood from her chair and walked over to a console and picked up a holo screen and handed it to Erin. "I will need you to write an official report to send to HQ, you know work and all those reason. Personally, I am sorry for your loss, and I don't care about you crashing the ship. It was a honest mistake and could have happened to anyone. Once you write and send your report it will likely get buried for weeks, possibly months, you know how they are. In the mean time you are welcome to stay aboard the ship, I could use another experienced human around to show the others the ropes of being in space until we get them were they belong. Or of course we could drop you at any space port or station that you want, your choice." She said simply as she moved to the nearest console and leaned her back against it and crossed her arms over her chest, fixing Erin with her golden gaze, trying to read her reaction and see what she wanted to do.

She could ask her questions later once she knew what her choice was. Erin had experience and knew these humans better then she did, she was an asset and one should was keen to use if she hung around.

Dorian looked at this human, surprised by how comfortable she was and the amount of questions she had to ask. "Melee is not really like earth, parts of it are similar enough. Gravity is a bit different there, and its a smaller planet. I was born in a very mountainous region, it had beautiful cloud covered skies that hid the mountain tops from view. There are lots of tunnels and underground settlements, only the most fortified or advanced are above ground. Oh and there are lots and lots of dragons, some are three times her size when she is at her largest. There are also many occupied planets out there, I probably couldn't count them all, each other races have a home planet that is sovereign territory for them, but they and others tend to spread out, my species in particular loves to travel. Its what got me in to trouble and crashed on earth in the first place." He said with a chuckle and then a curse remembering after the fact how much he had hated it there.

He shook his head before getting back to her questions. "Uh where were we, right intelligent species, much like planets there are many, most are not so nice. The four that you have already met here are what you will see most. Melæian, like myself, Feral like Odo and the white hair captain of this ship, Huronian like the hulking fellow that is also aboard this ship, and Siri like the one who helped patch up the flying girl. Now before you ask any more I have a question for you. Why did you agree to come and not just run away, leave before they could re capture you?" He asked pointedly looking down at her, she had a chance to get away but she chose to come anyways it made him curious. He smiled when he noticed that Nemra had fallen asleep while Lara had pet her, traitorous little creature might end up leaving him if she kept treating her so well.
