I mean, it does get gory, but it is absolutely a must read. @black_cat and I can’t stress enough that you MUST read it!! XD
You seriously connect with the characters, for example, I now know how to shoot a compound bow, just because I was so inspired by Katniss (and another series I read after that, The Ranger’s Apprentice, which again has characters who fight with bows (THIS IS ANOTHER MUST READ SERIES) )

I prefer a recurve bow.

I liked it because you could see the main character of the first books all grown up. But yeah I see how you could disagree. Sometimes it might be better to just leave it with Halt and Will as the main characters and not add in another.

Yeah, and the new ranger was just... meh. It would have been better to leave Halt and Will.

Yes. But, in a way, I liked it because I felt more like it was me as the new ranger. Again though, Halt was a better trainer than Will in my opinion and Will was a better trainee/student
