Both of those are nice dogs!! My grandpa used to have a Brittany.

Yes!! They usually love playing ball!! Lol and they have a lot of energy so they can play for as long as you want

And it can work out well for both of you! He can take it hunting and it can snuggle with you at the end of the day.

IMO you can’t go wrong with a good sporting/gun/bird dog but I might be a bit biased.

Don’t think you can go wrong with a herding breed either.

They’re all great.

I think you should get a spaniel or even a retriever.

They can be pretty high energy, more so than the retrievers, but they’re awesome dogs!! I’ve always wanted one.

Thanks! I’ve never heard of that. How exactly does it work? Just rub it over the dogs coat? Sounds very interesting.

That is another excellent option!! And there’s definitely a lot of great short coated breeds out there too.

I happen to own a border collie lab mix and he does a lot of herding chickens and herding humans even to he can get very over protective which in some ways could be a good thing and he also is able to hunt so if you want a lab border collie cross their mellow and are smart to not get in to to much mischief
