Bored Chickens make a not so fun time

Do not allow birds to jump on you....ever...and this will not be a problem.
I'm guessing this started when they were chicks and y'all thought it was cute when the birds jumped on you....now it's a habit.
If a bird jumps on me, it promptly gets knocked off.

Make sure they always have feed available every hour they are awake,
so they don't mob you when you come into coop for chores.

Sorry to sound so harsh, there's some basic management issues going on.

This is what confuses me when I see people post about chickens attacking them. Maybe it is just me, but if a chicken jumped at me, even if it were a rooster coming at me with spurs, I guarantee my automatic reaction would be to smack the chicken over the fence like I was hitting a home run. Might not be the best reaction due to possible injury (to human and chicken), but it would be my automatic reaction... Seems others are a lot more timid in their reactions?

Sure. I would not punt a chick over the fence. I guess I just cant fathom why people act like they don't know what to do when an adult tries to fly up to attack them. No offense @WiccanKC

Also, @WiccanKC, we gotta get some confirmation about those dimensions you provided. 3 x 2’ inside and 5 x 4’ outside for 13 chickens is like.....hard to imagine. Literally. 3 by 2 coop would mean they have less than half a square foot per chicken in the coop.
