Boston Terriers PHOTOS!! on 33

I dont think thats quite true. They are a mix of old english bull dogs, and one other breed, the original dam was a white bull dog, of which the breed is long extinct. They are NOT bred down pit bulls only, they have a rich history. They have a very long history, readily available all over the internet. The only true American dog, the breed was created and perfected here in the USA. They are often more 'terrier' in disposition, meaning they are happy and jumpy and can have a high small-prey drive.

They come in several colors, some accepted by AKC, others not accepted. Black and white, and brindle are accepted, brindle actually being preferred. They do come in a grey/blue (not accepted) and also in a red, or chocolate color. The red is striking, but not accepted yet.

I really hope you get your girl, but I would say, be ready to deal with issues with house training her, since she is new to your home. Bostons do really good when crate trained, if you can deal with the whining for a week till she accepts it. You will be glad in the end you did it. Our BT's LOVE their own personal 'cave' and understand the "Go to bed" command.

Hope you can post pics of your new Boston!!!

We love our boston they are special dogs easy to train and very playful. They do have some faults but what dogs doesn't the only fault i would like to correct is i would like to put some more weight on mine but she just runs it off.

Still no dog for us! Dang it.

He told me last night on the phone that he was to be off work at 3:00, he would call me as soon as he was home so we could come up or decide to meet half way (he lives a good distance from us)

well its 5 minutes until 6:00 and we havent heard a word from him. He hasnt answered emails, texts or calls.

We have 2 daughters that are 4 and 9 yrs old, they have been so excited, talking about it all day, we went and bought her same brand food, new collar, ID tag and toys.

There they all sit in a bag with no Boston to play with them.

trust me I didnt, but they are well they are hemorrhoids that are always around and since one can read, even the compute offers no discretion.

We still havent heard from him. I have a major headache, the girls keep asking why they didnt get their puppy.

I hate people sometimes,

PLEASE, go to Facebook and look for a local rescue group! They will not give you the run-around, most of the dogs are in family enviroments till they are adopted, and the fee's are very reasonable. Its SOOOOOO worth looking into. There IS a Boston out there for you and your family! If you really want an AKC purebred pup from a breeder, consider putting a down payment down on a not-yet-born pup, and make payment arrangements till puppy is 8 weeks and ready to go home. Could be the PERFECT Christmas gift!

But I would suggest adoption first, and an older dog, (not a new puppy) will usually have the kinks worked out, be partially trained and maybe housebroken (HUGE plus) and they tend to be a bit calmer, which makes transitioning to a new home much smoother for everyone.

I dont know if you should take a dog from that guy, if he is so rude to you, who knows how he may be treating an animal you want to bring into your home and around your kids? I hope it works out, but if it doesnt, that means it just wasnt meant to be, and the right dog is out there waiting for you to find it!

All of our other dogs and cats are rescues! All from shelters (except one cat, she was a personal rescue)

I am a foster for the local SPCA, but we havent had a Boston in there in over 2 years, and it was a very aggressive male.

He emailed me last night, he said that he was forced to stay at work yesterday, that they had Emergencies come in right as he was about to leave, he apologized profusely and said he would meet us this morning after 10.

I am not getting my hopes up, I told the girls that they shouldnt either, as we cant believe everyone out there!

I told my best friend, as bad as I want to tell him to shove it (lol) I also dont want to let my pride keep us from getting what sounds like the perfect Boston for us!

So I will go about my day today as normal. And just wait and see what happens next lol

I advocate rescues too, but sometimes I look at my crew of rescues , and my crew of breeder purchased dogs and I just wish I had gone with breeder dogs all around- sometimes rescues come with too much baggage and after years and years it gets old. Occasionally for a family it is worth it to know your dogs history. Just saying. I have spent 4x over what I spent on my dogs from breeders on special trainers and behavior modification for the rescues!

Wellll, that's part of the breed history and has been documented in several breed history books. People just don't want to hear it. That's okay, they are neat dogs and I have enjoyed knowing the ones I've shown.
