I'll have to get the pics off the camera when i go to lunch (working right now), but I've got a BUNCH of bantam chicks that look like your black one. Mostly dark brahma x black japanese. I'll put them up in a while... mine aren't ebay chicks, but homegrown mutts, but still...

and I have also had good fertility from ebay eggs, for my dorkings. unfortunately something happenned and most quit between 14 and 18 days so i got 2/21 eggs hatched. but they were a pair so i can't complain much. I don't blame the breeder there, I'm having similar quit issues with my homegrown dorking eggs too... (and close to 100% hatch on everything else local, so it's not the 'bator)

Was just ready to post a question when I saw your thread. I just ordered some call duck eggs on eBay (they had excellent feedback, so I'm hopeful). Any of you that have hatched shipped eggs - did you set them as soon as they arrived or wondering if I should maybe wait 24hrs for them to settle down? Probably a nutty question, but I wonder about these kinds of things.

I bought eggs from ebay in October-golden sebrights ordered 10 got a full dozen-hatched 5/12-silkies from a different person ordered 8 got 9 hatched 2/9. Not bad for shipped eggs (read fairly inexpensive) and my very first time incubating. We threw in 3 of our own (luckily) and all of those hatched! I can't wait until spring to get more!

Oh, no no no, dont set them in right away. Sure fire way to loose your entire hatch. They need time for the contents to settle and the air sack to go back to normal. Set them at room temp first so they can adjust~ 8-24 hours.

Awwww! How cute! First pic must be a Cochin. Yes, I LOOOOVE the Exchequer Leghorns. Very pretty birds. Recieved 12 E Leghorn eggs from Ebay, and am on day 4 of incubateing them. Lost one with Positive Developement, however all eleven are alive and kicking, very lively embryos. Day three with W Leghorn, recieved 13, lost 3~ one clear, two PD. Cant expect Every one to hatch. Gonna have some losses. Just a given in the chicken and shipping world! Lol! Gonna set the Sultan eggs with the Americana eggs im recieving in a day or two. Both of those Sellers also have beautiful high quality stock.
