OK - I thought this was FUNNY. But really - any size could do this even the guys as long as you have something to hold the eggs in contact with your skin for the warmth and humidity.
UPDATE: Bra (sports bra - leaves a gap in the middle)
Went out to check on the remaining egg out with the broody and the broody was off dust bathing while the egg eating former broody was scratching around in the nest - SO both eggs are in the bra. The EE chick is turning and zipping while the brown egg is working on zipping. Both chirping away in between short breaks. My dogs going nuts when the little ones are chirping.
LOL! I'm sorry, I have this image of your dogs staring at your...um...you know, flipping out every time they hear a cheep and thinking..."and all this time we thought they didn't do anything! What are they, and when did they wake up!"
I had one that was pipping finish hatching in my bra. The broody got up off the nest and left the last little pip. "We" went to lunch, the grocery store and the bank that day. Looked like a had a third boobie under my shirt...
By golly! THIS WORKS! I told my husband about this thread and told him I wanted to try it sometime and he BLEW UP saying I couldn't bc I'd have my boobs taken away from him bc of a baby chicken! Well, of course I did it anyway. Two days later.. I'm seeing veins and everything! Do you think I should go the entire 21 days? I have my hova-bator coming in a week.. Muahahaha I'm excited! I told everyone I'd name the chick either Victoria (secret) or Frederick (of hollywood). I thought my "equipment" might be a bit too small but I guess anyone can do it.
Hi Nancy! I have that issue here often! I leave them in 'the cleavage' until they are fully pipped, then stick the chick (or duckling) to finish pushing out of the shell in a 100* heated brooder.
I have to pull pipped chicks/ducklings here sometimes because of our nasty ant problem (they crawl in the pip hole and start to eat the chick). I figure the humidity 'there' is real close to broody-hens.
Hahaha, doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you get there!
Good luck!
