We have 5 brahma chicks that I believe are about 8 or so weeks old. Four are gorgeous little fluff butts, and then there is this one...

I don't see any signs of mites or parasites. Eating, drinking and pooping normally and quite fiesty. I thought I read somewhere that cockerals feather more slowly. Could that be the case? I am leaning towards cockeral, too judging from his pretty pink comb, but I would love others to weigh in.
Anyone else had this experience?

Could be a cockerel, if you have a few more photos someone else may be able to chime in.

I see new feather development on the wings. Some chicks can look a bit frazzled, if he's eating/drinking well and active, then I would just give him some time. He'll feather on out.

Just to chime in, I have mixed Brahma chicks and my suspected cockrels, majority are feathering out slowly around the shoulders or back. They're fine and its starting to grow out more now. Just means most likely they are roosters? I often hear they feather out slower than pullets.
