? brahma mix

I have a bowl of 36 brahma eggs laid over the last few days sitting on the kitchen counter right now. We can't eat them because the girls are being wormed.
The majority of them are the tannish pink the brahma is known for. A few are a darker tan.
I agree with the brahma/delaware guesses.

Both of them look too light to be brahmas. Ours have black all around the neck ruff. I don't really know what breed they are, but they are not full brahmas. I think they are both crossed, maybe with 2 different breeds. If so, that would explain the differences in egg colors. It is also possible the man you got them from was not very experienced, and gave you the wrong breed or a crossbreed by mistake.

I knew they were not pure bred when I got them. He was just selling the extra's he had for the fall. He said he did not want to keep so many to feed. He had about a dozen of them. Some were almost pure white but I liked how healthy they looked. Still am not sorry I have them. They are my first and took a long time to get use to me. they are now eating from my hands. Its been very rewarding and to think they layed the first egg on my birthday. Thats neat. jean

My Light Brahmas from Cackle Hatchery seem to have much shorter legs than yours. I think yours are really pretty. I usually like the mixed breeds the best anyway. Lord knows I'm not perfect so I don't expect my chickens to be either.

Mine are six months old and they're huge. I call them my fat-bottom girls. I dont' have any Brahma roos. I can't imagine how big they would be my Barred Rock is big enough!
