So question for my Brahma ladies.... :-D We're finishing up the coop this weekend, one of the things I've been worried about is framing the door... I'm worried about going too small for an adult bird to handle... how big should the door hole be??

I decided months ago to go with straight Brahmas. They are gentle, easily handled, and good egg producers. My other breeds are RIRed, Laced Wyandottes, and Ameraucanas, Buff Orps, and one little Black Silkie Roo I called Napoleon. He struts around like he owns the place, and is hilarious when he breaks up fights and tries to mate with the Brahmas!

How big is the coop? I have a walk in coop with a man door, and close it up every night.

Well, its an elevated coop and we have a ramp for it... I just keep getting worried about their entrance. I don't want to use our human access entrance as their door because I wouldn't want to prop it open in the winter. I figure that there will be some days that they'll opt to stay home because its too cold or snowy or whatever... They won't want to have the big door open, letting out all their heat...
