The struggle with buff laced coloration is that there is a midrange of color with pheomelanin that is the ideal - which unlike silver laced birds with which the goal is an absolute white and an absolute black combination. You want a nice even buff color distributed throughout the bird’s entire body as well as a nice even creamy white lacing throughout – which is very difficult. I suggest you cull any F1, F2, F3, etc. birds that have red shoulders or pale breasts. As homozygous dominant white tends to dilute pheomelanin and does not do a 100% job eliminating melanin I suggest using blue laced red Wyandottes in your pursuit of this new color variety of Wyandotte.
