Yes, pretty chickens. Do their heads get narrower with each generation?

Wasn't directed at me, but with that line it definitely seems that way. The more I see, the narrower the head seems to get. Tim, the photos you posted made me chuckle. Looks like an English Bulldog head..haha.

Yes RP, I like 'em wide. The Stanard says, "The head and skull are important breed characteristics." The head description says,"HEAD: Medium in length, deep, broad; skull projecting over eyes." Type makes the breed. If they don't have Brahma type......they are pretty birds, IMHO. Just trying to gently stress the importance of type.

Ever hear that song "Baby got Back"? Brahma version: "Baby got Brows".

"I like big brows and I can't deny, when a Brahma comes in with alot of fluff and a round head for a face you get..."

Well you get the jest of this.

I think I need to get more sleep...

My Bahamas never hatch on time...usually day 22 or 23 ....Last hatch all of them hatched on day 23 and my bator and humidity AND my calculations were dead on....I have some under a broody now so I'll let you know in 17 days!

I also thank you for that. Mine are on day 21 and now I'm not as worried that I see nothing.
These are the last few fertile eggs from my Rhode Island Red hen since I had to get rid of the Brahma rooster.
After my first adventure with incubating, I was very careful with this batch. I have high hopes.

I like the small wide head. It makes them stand out. Any one know of any breeders in Louisiana? These are what mine look like now

Their brows do stick out over their eyes, but I'd like the head to be flatter and not as tall
