None of mine are very nicely marked, since they are hatchery stock...There is everything from a light mostly gray one to dark ones with more correct lacing. This one has very little lacing on it, It won't matter much if it's a Roo, but I'm giving a couple to my aunt and I want to be sure on how many pullets I'll have left. I'll just keep an eye on it for the next several weeks

New Brahmas!

Tim, you have grand chickies. The Lights

And the Buffs

Awesome Clare! I'm done with Lights and Buffs for the year. I've hatched a hundred or so. I got a pair of bantam darks from Jimmy Rust a month or so back. I'm trying to get a few of those out now. I have six of them developing due to hatch next weekend. I have hatched some lights with FREAKISH heads this Spring. There are photos on my gallery at showbird. Glad to see you are keeping your birds going.

I have more due over the next few weeks, but am done setting them. My nicest Buff pullet has gone broody anyway.

I saved ten Buff female for breeding this Spring. I gave five to Jimmy. ALL of the five remaining have gone broody. We have used them to hatch two groups of Dark Cornish eggs. Now we are using them for the Dark Brahma Bantam eggs, and White Cornish bantam eggs. After next week end the Sportsman will be turned off and we will be strictly using the broodies. Conversly....NONE of my Lights have gone broody and seldom have over the years???

Just got 5 bantum brahma babies, 1 week old. They had lots of poop build up on their bottoms today, brought them home on Sunday (2 days ago). They all got baths today to clean up. I don't think they knew what the waterer was, or maybe where it was. Changed waterer and they drank like crazy for a few minutes. They were in the shop in a large trough with hay for bedding and the heat lamp, which because of the size of the trough was up high for their size I think. So now they will reside in a box, with a tiny bowl for water, a tiny bowl for food, pine shavings for bedding, and their heat lamp much closer, and in the house so I can keep a closer eye on them. Getting out my meat thermometer to regulate temp for them. Hope all will be well. I have 1 light and 4 dark. Here are some pics.....any advice anyone?

Are there any Bantam Brahma breeders in soutehr California? I am looking for some, but can't seem to find any. I recently lost our brahma hen and she was so beautiful and sweet I have decided to stick with the breed.
