Is sevin dust the quickest way to get rid of lice on chickens?

It probably is quick, but I used a poultry and garden dust from Tractor Supply that has an active ingredient as permethin (sp.), which I believe is more natural and considered organic. I had to do the treatment 3 times, but it seemed to work. I haven't seen lice anymore. I did it repeatedly to get the eggs that would later hatch out.

Permethrin used to be (but no longer is) used for human head lice in Britain. It is an insecticide. I have just used it (in ready diluted spray form) for red mite and it has proven to be very effective.

On this side of the pond I use ivermectin drops (absorbed through the skin) at the back of the neck if there is a bad infestation. We don't eat any eggs laid for a couple of weeks, though a badly lice-infested hen usually is off lay in any case.

I appreciate that drug availabilities may be a bit different in the States.

my girls feet are HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she looks like a dinosaur. The rest of my flock are RSL , Cochin, and EE. at 12 weeks she is towering over them already. Is that normal or am I just going to have a monster of a girl? (see picture above)

Ok can all of you Brahma lovers explain the difference between a production Lt Brahma and a show bird...?
My son has some "production" hens, and shows them in 4-H in the production class.... but now he wants to get a rooster, would we get a regular lt brahma rooster, ?? I am just confused at the difference between them...

thanks

I got this girl from a guy that wasnt sure if she was a standard brahma or bantam. She is 4 1/2 months now can anyone tell by this pic?

Everyone is gone to work and school so this is the best I could get for now hopefully this helps. I know they are slow growing birds and just didnt know if this is normal for a standard or if I have a bantam
