thanks Tim.

So, any thoughts then on whether pullet or roo?

I'll see if I can post better photos
I can't tell Angela. The big birds are so slow to mature.

That observation came from someone who had no idea if their brahma was a bantam or largefowl. Do not worry.
I'm sorry, just because I did not know if my bird was a bantam or not when I got her from a guy who also was not sure , does not mean I dont know anything about birds. I think that was kind of rude and a cheap shot if you ask me. These posts are for people to post their opinions when someone has a question. No person should be criticized for trying to help.

I did not take it so much as criticizing, as qualifing the experience of the opinion giver, to releave someone else's worries. Too often alot of beginners get questionable advise from people who where at the same level themselves just a few months, or maybe years ago on here.

As far as the chick in question, it does appear to be very loose feathered and vulture hocked, pants as you called them. But Brahmas in most of the world outside the U.S.. are vulture hocked, and this bird is in Thialand, so I'm not sure what their Standard calls for.

Over all I would think posters/readers here would, or should appreciate the knowledge of some of the crustier experienced breeders that still frequent this site. I hesitate to think of what this would turn into with out them.

And I agree with what you are saying. Someone who breeds will know better. But to make it sound like I dont know wha tI am talking about simply because I had a question whether or not my bird was bantam or not is not right. I have been raising chickens my whole life, this is the first year I have had bantams which is why I was not sure, and with brahmas they are slow growing so it was hard to tell.
Yes different countries have different standards that is why I said maybe he should look up pics of them to compare. I also believe we are all here to learn and help as we can not disrespect and be rude. Who would want to take the advice or opinion of someone who is rude to anyone.

I'm sorry if you thought me rude. ANYONE can come on here and present ANYTHING as fact. There are plenty of "new to Brahma people" who will gobble it up as fact. The truth is about 75% of what is presented here as fact is someone's opinion, or just a guess. Puttng out false information, (ie.opinion) is NOT helping. I subscribe to this thread and comment when I think I can help. I just ignore most of the sillier stuff. I assure you my goal is to promote Brahmas and their breeding. I just think we should all be more careful with tossing out opinions or guesses. Some people actually believe them.

Yes alot of people will believe the first thing they are told, and that is not anyones fault but their own. Opinions and guess are always thrown out there and that is what this whole experience is for. I did not say yes that is a cochin I said looks like one and suggested to look up pics and compare. You are right anyone can come on here and state they are the president of anything, and we are just suppose to believe that. I think what you posted was very rude. Have you not asked a question on here? Asking a question does not make you dull or under educated in something. Put yourself on the other end of it. Imagine if someone posted " oh dont listen to Tim63 he didnt know that his bird was an EE and not an Ameracauna" Just an example ok. I just dont like to be smashed by someone just because I tried to help.
