I volunteer to go out to do your chores while you recuperate. I work for mere eggs (gotta eat, ya know).

HAHAHAHA speaking from experience I see. all my birds were just chickens when I pulled them out of the box at the feed store. 1 brahma 1 gold campine ,1 splash andalusion, a white 1 and an oegb the last 2 roos are gone, iffy about the sex of my brahma but because it is so pretty I'm going to keep it even if it is a roo

I'll see about setting up a schedule, as my wife and daughter have not been bashfull about letting me know that the thrill of tending my chickens has definitely worn off for them. Anybody else want in ?

And it begins.

Tim heres probably my best pic of my chick at 16 weeks wish my email would work lol.
this was my question from the other day
Tim63 do you remember my questionable bird with the bad feathering (black head ) its comb looks like BLaBauve's pullet and besides the head the rest looks like spitmans roo, at 16 weeks. could it be a pullet with bad feathering or a roo slow to grow its comb and wattle?
thanks erica

Erica, it is still kind of hard to tell. I would think at 16 weeks a male would have more comb and wattle development. The bird pictured also seems to have more of a "female" tail. However, its hard to tell if the color in the saddle is just stippling, or true male saddle color. I am about 75% sure it is a poorly colored female. I'll include a picture of a couple of my bantam males of roughly that age. I'm sorry I'm not more helpful.

Thanks Tim
The birds had me confused since it was a couple weeks old 1st I didn't know what it was. I was convinced i had all roos when they were 4 weeks . I learned my lesson going in for a grab bag of chicks
