All my chicks were doing great. They were having fun out in the grass. I put them inside at night. They are about two weeks old. they sleep inside a bird cage for now since they are small. My dad takes then out in the morning to their outside enclosure. When I woke up this morning I went to check on my chicks. One was sitting on the floor. It looked normal. Later when I returned it was in the same spot. I worried and realized it was hurt. I checked his leg and wing for injuries. I see nothing. I took the chick inside and brought along a second chick for company. Its eating but its just laying there. I don't know what to do .

Maybe a torn tendon. MY sal;mon favorelle had this issue and you cant see anything and mine didnt walk she would scoot or at the beginning do nothing at all. This takes about a months to heal. All you can do is give the pain mediecne and spoil them. If that is what is wrong with it, im not sure.

I hope its nothing serious. I'm clueless on how this could have happened. :/

I've been agonizing over whether one of my light brahmas is a boy or a girl... posted a few days back and then a little while before that... I've gotten lots of boy guesses and lots of girl guesses... I've sort of given up on "it" and put "it" out with the rest of the boys in what we call the meat coop... lol I put all 3 side-by-side and snapped some pictures... all 3 are light brahmas from a mid-May hatch, so they're right around 11 weeks old if I remember right. The one in the middle has ALWAYS been huge compared to the other two. The one on the left seems to have more black feathering, the one on the right was the one I had been keeping out in hopes that "it" turned out to be a pullet, but I'm fairly sure it belongs out in the meat coop with the rest of the boys. ;) Any input on that decision would be welcome! lol Sorry for picture overload... and for some reason my pictures posted above my comment and it won't let me cut/paste the text... I'm lazy so I'm just going to leave it here... ;)
In my not very well versed opinion they are all boys and the monster one in the middle has a narrow head. I like the head on the one on the right. Don't know about the one on the left.

As promised, the pics of the GLB with vulture hocks, sorry I didn't get them up yesterday, but between outside time, then a scare when a hawk was seen (we were out with all the littles the entire time!) and the quick gathering and taking inside, and of course cleaning the brooder (again, lol), just didn't get the time to do it. I did not know when I got these that this was a fault, but I can use it to help others not make the same mistake.

Sorry about the crummy phone pics, and the messy feathers, they were trying to "dust bathe" like the bigger girls, but did it in a freshly watered pumpkin bed, lol.

While it takes for every to heal, it really isnt that serious you just have to take extra good care of them. My salmon favorelle pullet hit her leg on something when I wasnt around and started out limping and got incresinly worse.

I guess I can officially post here as a Brahma owner. Still at "backyard hobbyist" level, so I only have one buff Brahma ("Buffy the worm slayer") currently. (She's grown since this..)

Had a beautiful light, too, until she passed away unexpectedly last week. I'll be sticking around here, for sure, because of my 12 various breeds, the brahmas are the SWEETEST things ever. No matter what breeds come as go here, Brahmas will be a staple.
I randomly stumbled across the thread searching for something completely unrelated and it brought me to big medicine's post a couple weeks ago with the blue/white laced red-looking beauties. Fancy seeing you here from the OH thread. ;) If you are selling any of that project, I'm going to find a way to get my rear up to that Ceasar Creek swap sometime lol!
