Brahma Thread

I believe I have found a very good source to get 15 chicks in April. They will be straight run of either of the three choices buff laced, gold laced, and gold laced blue. If I am lucky I might get a few of each kind. However I am still interested and wanting other brahma colors even if it is light, buff, dark, or any of the other colors. I would like chicks if at all possible.

I believe sunnyside up Micro-farm has/had buffs. I am not sure of LF or bantam though. I do know they were in the process of eliminating some breeds, so don't know if that was one or not. Maybe check into it. Here is a link to their facebook page

Thanks I do not have a FB but I looked at their pictures because it is not private. I did not see any brahmas but thank you a lot for the info. All information is greatly appreciated.

Thats weird they have posted pics of buffs before. They are on BYC, but I can't remember their username. If I figure it out I will let you know

I truly hope you enjoy your chicks, but hope you won't be too disappointed when you find those unrecognized varieties are generally sadly lacking in breed type. I have not seen any with correct size and width. You should have a colorful group however.

Thanks dak I appreciate it. To be honest with you I am a small timer just wanting to enjoy brahmas. I love attending chicken shows, but I do not plan on entering any fowl. I enjoy color and beauty in chickens and those colors have it all. I like all colors of brahmas and they will always be my favorite breed. Hopefully my brahma collection can grow this year if I can find some more people willing to sell chicks at a reasonable price then I could let all my brahmas grow together this year.

Their username on here is Chicks4MyFamily. I actually saw a post they had in the BST section for bantam buff chicks. They might have LF, worth a PM. They are really the only other people I know of, outside of some of the people on this thread.

Cranked up the incubator. I'll set my first eggs Saturday. Buffs and Lights are laying now. Hope to get earlier fertility with the Buffs this year.

Last year I bought a GQF cabinet incubator. Would it be worth while to buy eggs from someone and take the chance on being broken or the shipment being rough or is it just better to buy chicks?
