I never thought that Don. I was just pointing out they are both good breeders, and GOOD people.

Tim
Tim, I have talked to Darlene before at the Ohio National and helped her pick out some Brahma bantams. When offering an opinion on BYC I would just wish that posters would not mention who the fowl came from. Have a blind critique. just remember you are dealing with another Crusty old man. I have nothing but respect for what you are doing with the Brahma.

This is GREAT information from everyone! Thanks SO much for taking the time!

What a huge help to all us that are new to this breed! Thanks!

I took some new pictures today of all 8 cockerels.

All 6 of the Hobb's cockerels~ I am not considering the one on the roost due to his white wing feathers.

The 2 Neff roosters

Do you see what I was talking about with the two males on the bottom pictures with the saddle having very little color. In my area they would not show very good. The five males I would hold onto for a little longer and see what happens.

Check the top group of males and see if the wing folds together like it is supposed to. Make sure they do not have a weak or split wing.

Maybe my eyes are just getting bad? I just can't really see a big difference in the saddle color from the pictures anyway.

I still prefer the Neff K with the wide tail. Can you give a rear view of him? And maybe a better photo of the saddles. You can raise the saddles and look under them. Buff males are very slow to get their adult color in the saddle. See if more, blacker saddles are coming in.

I didn't realize they were supposed to have so much color in their saddle feathers! Now I will have to go look at all of them with a different eye. This is exactly what I need to get this all figured out! I hope others are benefitting from this too

I love taking pictures of my chickens so I will get some shots from the top and rear. I think the Neff roosters have more color in their saddle feathers than is showing in my pictures, but not as much as the fellow you posted a picture of.

Tim, The one thing about the Young male you like most is that I do not like the length of his tail. I just do not like the long tail Brahma .

OK, here are some pictures I took today of the 2 Neff roosters in question. #2 guy did not want his picture taken so I did not get a good picture of his tail from the rear. I am guessing his tail is to long? I like his color, head and neck better than the #1 rooster though.

# 1 rooster ~

# 2 rooster ~
