Would like to submit these pics of 2 Palomino Bantam Brahma cockrels. for ppl to help me with.
They are 4 months and one week old..
I would like to sell one as i only have one hen but not sure which
.
I am thinking #2. but not sure what i am looking for on a nice roo,

Was hoping for some opinions
Im new to this and not sure what good looking chicken should look like or a nice looking bantam as these are my only bantams
#1 is larger
Thanks ahead for any insite and help
My understanding was Dan Powell i believe was looking for a laced buff when he found these Palominos. Also wondered if either look more likely to produce a more laced effect feather or if its possible to tell AT ALL.

Ok was looking at the 2 hens. hatched from the same shipment of eggs...These pullets do have the white neckband ..like a palomino .Hope you can make this photo closer up to see better . So are the white necked ones Paliminos? but the dark (males) Buff Brahmas?
These pullet must have the gene that leaves out the black pigment but if so the males in this case dont if they are fro m the same panents. So if the 2 cross i will get just this....... some black and some white ? OR Do you think the eggs were both pure Buff and then some palomino? or just the gene for white was only in the pullets
Can the black necked carry the gene for white even if they have the black neck or not.?

Just for curiosities sake how would one go about increasing the diamonding in a males saddle feathers? My males just kind of have black no real "diamond" shape in their saddle feathers.

Does anyone know if Dark Brahma can be sexed by colour? Light breast vs dark breast?
I have found with my bantam buff Brahmas that the pullets have dark heads and the cockerels golden when they hatch. I have babies hatching right now!

This is my first hatch from the birds I hatched last year from Hobb's and Neff line eggs. The two that hatched have nice wide heads. I will post pictures when they have all hatched, are dry, fluffy and cute

Im no bird breeding expert in anyway but if it were mine i would look at other ppls Brahma roos find one with saddle you want get eggs or some hens or pullets from that roo and then breed for that saddle. with your roo
Keep cockrels that come out better and use them to breed with until you have the roo you want.
Well thats what i would do

You need to keep females with black in the saddle/cushion area to improve saddle color in males. A good example of the difference in breeder birds and show birds. You have to keep good breeder birds to produce your showbirds.
