They won't listen. I started with hatchery birds. I actually had my first Brahmas from Murray McMurray in 1974! I was 11 then. I never knew the difference until I went to the FortWorth Stock Show MANY years later. I saw the true "standard bred" Brahmas in all their glory. Pictures and verbal descriptions really fall short. Thats why I am always telling people to go to an ABA/APA sanctioned show to see GOOD birds and meet breeders. VERY eye opening.

Again, NOTHING wrong with hatchery/backyard birds. If thats your interest, thats great. My interest is exhibition quality birds, so thats my perspective. NEVER my intent to offend anyone.

Well said Tim. It's easy to offend when we're just reading typed print. You just got the message out there, which is easy to understand, yet no one is going to feel like they made a stupid choice.

Just wanted to edit this to say we ARE listening. It's just that we're learning, too. We sometimes have trouble locating breeder birds in our area. Thanks for the lead yesterday. We really do all want the big gorgeous chickens like you've created.

You didn't offend me.

I been checking into breeder LB. But my plate is full until around mid-April. Then it might be too late to find any this year. I got these LB on a wimm. LOL. Right now I'm raising those 8 LB. Have 7 leghorns and 10 Heritage Rhode Island Reds from Ron (Bates Bloodline) in the brooder. Have a flock of 15 Production reds for there eggs only. Have 9 of there eggs in lock down ready to hatch. Then next month getting 25 Heritage Delawares from Paul Harter. So I have Heritage birds from breeders. Those are the birds I want!!

I had to back down with the LB for a bit because I already committed to the Reds and Delawares. But the LB ARE COMING!!!!!!!

i would love to go to one of those shows but am having a hard time finding any within a distance i could go to and come Home in a day.

Ok here are pics of my roo from different angles i want to know the good bad and ugly about him. He its huge t twice the size of the hens and has good temperment, i hink his head is a bit narrow , hoping to find some more nice hens to go with him.
