Didn't think blue and black would be discussed here, but there's some weirdness goin on with that gene lately. I know two breeders personally who have had blues come out of black to black pairings and one person online has reported it. Three different breeds. Someone really good with genetics, what has been overlooked with that blue genetics?

BG matt that Set up you have looks great . Im doing Dark Brahmas From a Awesome Breeder in NY . what breeds are you doing ?

Still figuring it out. Going to be primarily Langshans and some other projects. But lurk in this thread because I used to raise Lights in large and bantam and bantam buffs. (Plus Brahmas are just one of my favorite breeds)

Hola, we're new to this breed. In the spring we received ten preordered babies. Knowing we would have a 50/50 split. I didn't realize it would be so hard to distinguish between hen and rooster on certain breeds. We have to white brahmas and I am having a hard time getting specifics on what to look for. Any help would be appreciated. Ty

As far as I know it is REALLY hard to tell till they get much older

I have 4 brahma chicks that I think are just shy of 3 weeks old. Got them from the local IFA. I think my small little dark brahma may be a male. It is feathering slower and has no tail yet. Maybe it was just hatched later- I don't know what do you think?

Really hard to tell till they are older, when the combs start to turn red. Cute chicks. What are the white ones?

Love my little Dark Brahma, sitting in the big girl coop next to my SS, BO and my Buff Barred Cochin Roo'let.
