No I mean here in the USA there are only 3 colors that all allowed to show
Lites , Buffs, and Darks

wonder if its a mix of lites and buffs
Not exactly true. Non-recognized varieties CAN be shown, they are only eligible to win BV and no higher. For example, a partridge Brahma can be "Best Of Variety" but not "Best Of Breed". Other varieties have to at least be in the standard in some breeds and not made up. Not sure "palomino" is in either standard in any breed? BTW the "Bantam Standard" has five recognized varieties of Bantam Brahmas: Light, Buff, Dark, White, and Black. Whites are never seen and Blacks seldom. Partridge are more frequently seen.

Nice looking flock! I just recently added a dark Brahma to my mixed flock along with a Leghorn and a Sussex. The poor Brahma is at the bottom of the pecking order. I feel so bad for her because she is so shy and sweet.

thank you tim, i know next to nothing about showing , i like the colors like i said but since they're just for me doesn't matter, altho i do like to see a good brahma like yours . i think the palomino is just a color but then what do i know?

Can you post a pic? I am new too and find it a little difficult to get around on this site sometimes. The info is worth the wadding around to learn though! Don't get discouraged just keep getting on every few days and you'll pick it up. I am still in the learning process as well. Everyone is so nice and very helpful!

I was intrigued with the palomino at one time. I corresponded with a couple breeders and learned that apparently the variety is neither a bantam or large fowl. It's kind of a medium size. That would probably also be a another reason this particular variety would be difficult to show, along with the lack of a palomino description in the SOP. I've always found though, that most any chicken in any variety can be beautiful and enjoyable if well done. There are some people breeding this chicken well, and if you don't care to show, then its not a problem for you.

i don't have that color, i liked the buff laced much better, but found out what i have don't breed true, of course my boys may not be as big as the standard colors in lf but hey, not showing so who cares. i did buy some dark eggs from a couple of different show people, raising them now, will see what i like the best when they grow up, may just be the darks but like i said, its for me, not for showing

I have Buff-laced project birds. What doesn't breed true with yours?
