I guess I can officially post here as a Brahma owner. Still at "backyard hobbyist" level, so I only have one buff Brahma ("Buffy the worm slayer") currently. (She's grown since this..)
400

Had a beautiful light, too, until she passed away unexpectedly last week. I'll be sticking around here, for sure, because of my 12 various breeds, the brahmas are the SWEETEST things ever. No matter what breeds come as go here, Brahmas will be a staple.
I randomly stumbled across the thread searching for something completely unrelated and it brought me to big medicine's post a couple weeks ago with the blue/white laced red-looking beauties. Fancy seeing you here from the OH thread. ;) If you are selling any of that project, I'm going to find a way to get my rear up to that Ceasar Creek swap sometime lol!

Great name choice =D

I miss El General So much. He was my favorite Rooster. and the first Brahma I ever had. I got him when he was old. He was blind and all but he was such a sweet guy. :(
It was about this time of the year last year. At least he passed away while he was asleep, i don't think he was in pain or anything. We had him inside the house half the time.

I have a LF blue laced red brahma, and thought I would have to get rid of him when he matured, we have a mixed flock mostly silkies, and polish bantam all, besides him and his two sister. And Couldn't be more surprised to see how friendly and docile he his, refuses to fight with anyone!! to the point of letting some of the silkie roosters chase him around the yard, a very strange sight!! Keep trying to tell him alls he would have to do is stop them is put one of his huge feet down and stare them down, he's big enough to tower over them it would surely put a stop to that really quick!!
But he truly is a gentle giant. Not saying your rooster will absolutely be the same, but they are known for being calm and gentle, so I would give him a try.
He's seems to be the only rooster we've every had that know you last a lot longer around here if you don't fight!!!
