She needs a black necklace and her face a little too long beak too long look at jackies website skytop bantams i think shes def a master breeder by now thats where i got my pair from

Just curious as to where you think the Buff Brahma should have more black showing. The black in the hackles should go up to ear level and besides that fail to see anything out of order, but I am not a brahma expert by a long shot.
In the picture provided, she doesn't appear to have but a tiny dab of black, she needs more in the tail. And she could use a little more black in the neck.

I might be wrong but I believe her tail feathers are missing. She need the Hackle feathers to be a little higher to ear level. To my untrained eye the Buff looks very nice.
[/quoteI didnt think theyight be missing. I cant tell from then picture. Regardless there is mot enough black in tje tail. Wether the feathera need to grow back or the coloring just isnt right.

OMG!! My light's have been through a bad molt for the last 1 1/2 months so haven't been laying. Why they went through a molt this time of year I have no idea. There this years chicks. But one laid an egg for the first time in that long and it was the biggest egg i have ever seen from any chicken. Actually the one she laid yesterday was even bigger.

The white eggs are X-large Leghorn eggs. Look at that thing.

That is a huge egg wow! I hope she is ok?

Got one like that today from my biggest light hen. It was a double yolker. That was definitely a bummer since I really need/want to get chicks hatched out. This was the first egg I've gotten in a few months but on the bright side I got another hen who started up today and her egg was a saver.

My birds have pretty much shut down on the laying too. I think I will hatch later in the Spring this next year. I need my pullets at 5-7 months for optimum bloom for show. I am finding I have few show worthy candidates this late when I hatch soooo early. Not a problem with the Ks so much. I HOPE to have several pullets for the BIG ABA show in early November of next year. IF I am even able to make the LONG trek from Texas to Ohio.

Yeah that's the only bummer about LF Brahmas vs. the bantams( not to mention the feed bill difference

). If they aren't hatched in early to mid winter then they won't be old/big enough for the fall shows. Good luck traveling all the way from Texas to Ohio next year. I know my three hour trip is bad enough .

If you keep a little quiet about it Tim, you might be able to sneak in before they get the roadblocks established at the Ohio state line.
