These were hatched July 4th. I was wondering if the different colored napes indicated roo and hen. The one on the right looks like it is getting white feathers on top of its head, which would make me think roo, but the nape is darker than the other bird, which also has a few cream feathers coming in on top.

My next question is, should they have yellow feet from day one, or are some born with darker brownish feet and hopefully they lighten up? The chick on the right has sort of brown looking feet. There are a couple like that. Would you sell them off right away?

And third, is there such a thing as too much feathering on their legs? This one looks like a clydesdale with all those feathers!

not sure about the feet.

The one on the left in picture 2 has vulture hocks which will be a disqualification. They can have too much leg feathering, the standard says, feathers only on the outside toe, middle toe is clean, but this often comes off at first molt

ahhh, I think I will unload them. I have enough other kinds of birds. If I wanted Brahams I think I would want some of your partridge anyhow!

Well Im kind of re starting up my flock from scratch right now, but as it happens I moved to Redlands last Sunday so, I can probably accomodate you next spring

Its not a bad idea to have darks around...because darks and partridge are silver and gold versions of the same thing so they can be bred from the same pen

hmmmm.... i move quick! I already put up a craigslist ad! I may have to cherry pick before I sell... those partridge look WAY better than the dark! And what luck you are a half hour from me. The offic I work out of is right by Loma Linda and my brother lives in Calimesa so I drive right by you pretty often!
