Is anyone breeding dark brahma STANDARDS???

YES! OMG I only like brahma in standard size - dont care for the bantams. I had a 12 lb rooster and a 9 lb hen - BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL birds.

They are standard Light Brahma's. I am not happy that the one is coming in darker than I expected, but I guess I'll always be able to tell them apart.........it's not like I'm going to use them for breeding or anything, anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

From what I can gather mine are turning out to be very bad quality light brahmas. Anyway, am thinking of crossing them next with either blue or buff. I know someome with columbian brahmas here, he might lend me a rooster for those girls in the spring...

Oh, ok. So columbian refers to the feather patterning rather than the colour? Now I get it. Blue brahmas here are very rare indeed, a lot of people have golden. I know one guy with columbian. Might try him for some eggs so. Can't do anyting until my father takes away is bloomin' barnevelders though.

Hi guys, I'm considering a couple of Buff Brahama pullets to add to my flock for some more eggs, since all my younger Dels ended up being cockerels. Can you tell me how they are for egg production. I like big, pretty birds, but I want lots of big eggs, too.

Anyone have Brahmas from Cackle? I would love to see pics, that's where the pullets I'm looking at are from.

Thanks!
