I'm enjoying all the photos, so am adding mine to the mix. I have two Dark Brahmas.

They're pretty curious, so as I was taking photos of all the chickens yesterday, I turned a little, and saw one of them checking out what I was doing.

They also LOVE to eat. I read that they can have laying problems if they get too heavy, but how do I prevent them from getting too fat?

the best way is to watch how many treats and what kind of treats you give them.
if your feeding a good balanced Laying pellet for the majority of their daily intake, they should get most of what they need from it.
I feed a locally made feed pellet that is 16-20% Protein (depending on time of year) and I only give treats sparingly. Cracked Corn is mixed (1/4) in the winter with the pellets into a warm mash so they have something to help keep them warmer at night when they are sleeping. Due to the bitter cold in Alaska, this seems to help them...

However I also sprout seeds for them in the winter so they have fresh greens all year.

do bantam brahma usually lay almost every day, mine has been laying loads of eggs recently when I thought she would be slowing down because of daylight hours, or is it possible she's laying her clutch like my other pullet did? I think she just laid 9 days in a row, and before someone says something about are you sure its her egg yes I am 4 different breads 4 different sizes colors and shapes.

If your Brahma hen has as much intellect as mine, Tuesday's chicks, you will be able to take the chicks straight out of the incubator and give them to her without a problem.

My Brahmas have had two rubber eggs taken away and 12 from the incubator given to them with less than a week to go and have happily hatched them. They have also taken on chicks a few days old etc. Great mums.

thats what I'm hoping to do, if they hatch, broody girls all over the place, and I had to put eggs back in incubator yesterday, to find another broody today, 1 egg pipped under a broody I took the egg that was pushed out this morning and stuck it under the brahma don't think it will hatch but you never know can do a swap with chicks for eggs after.
