WOW - Floridamama Kermit looks awesome. So happy he has his girls back. Good luck hatching! Carolyn - looks like a pullet to me. Very adorable. I have 6 that are a few days old and a Dark Hen setting on about 15 eggs...Thinking of ordering 25 (Partridge and Black) from Mr. Rennot (sp?) looking forward to that!

Thanks Matt. She is my only partridge and very sweet. I'm hoping all 3 are girls actually! I am very intrigued by the thought of Black Brahma? Look forward to hearing more about that!
Any opinions on McMurray Light Brahmas? Got some from them and they have too much black where there should be white, in general they look muddy, the chicks were a dark color, I noticed that breeders have yellow chicks, also I noticed that Cackle Hatchery has yellow chicks, anyone know about their quality in the LB? I am wanting them for eggs, meat and something pretty to look at. People have told me that breeder chickens are not bred for egg laying, hatchery chickens lay better. Any suggestions? The girls I have lay good and taste good but not what I want to look at.
I love seeing pictures of my beautiful boys! I have some more beauties growing up plus 40-ish eggs in the incubators including gold laced, buff laced, and blue laced red (or is it red laced blue) Brahmas, plus 5 eggs from Frack, the queen of our house. She's a dark Brahma and her chicks are fathered by Casey, so no telling what they are going to look like!
@ Melanie - coco is a cool bird, but the coloring is not correct for a Dark Brahma. The roo's are very similar to roo's in any of the silver laced birds and even as they mature tend to show more white than the bird pictured. Not saying that may not change, but I have had lots of Dark boys and nothing colored that heavily in black. Maybe a cross?
