I wouldn't say that, there are some nice birds and a few good breeders out there working on these and other projects. But on the flip side there are also speculaters, who will likely try to cash in on a quick buck. Unfortunately this seems to be the formula with most new varieties/breeds, almost always to the detrimint of the breed. Just be carefull you get your stock from someone on the right side of the coin.

I recall seeing some 'silver laced brahma' eggs on ebay awhile back that looked like the rooster you just posted with primitive lacing but otherwise columbian. They were selling them as 'pure silver laced brahmas from Gary's flock' and using your name like crazy to sell these hatchery rejects. I show other animals and things like this happen all the time. Someone gets a cull horse/dog/goat from someone who got their stock from a well known breeder then uses their name as a selling point, it gets under my skin

Of course...they sell them here and if they aren't received we'll..Gary's name gets used on EBay...it's pathetic really....Also, when Gary did sell eggs a long time ago, those folks kept every chick hatched vh or not and bred them all. No culling or selective breeding only To get as many layers as possible...then started selling the eggs to cash in! Total disservice to the hard work Gary put into them.... Angers me to no end

Please allow me to clear up my meaning:

Those who are only breeding to make a quick buck instead of work towards the goal that med started out with are "turning out" birds who are undersized and have a body type smaller than a good brahma, hence the undersized Wyandotte analogy.

Hope that cleared things up a bit.

I bought some silver laced Brahma eggs in the past. All that hatched had major VH. They since were culled.
