Hello experts :)

I didn't notice until an hour after I brought her home
tongue.png
that the day old Light Brahma I got today has no leg feathers. I wasn't watching when the lady put the chicks in a box as I had no reason to suspect anything sinister (and I'll not be returning her anyway) but I was wondering about this trait (defect?). The chicks originally came from Ideal Poultry and I'd bought a Light Brahma that came from them before and it had beautiful leg feathering. Is this just an odd chance occurence or does this follow a line genetically? I don't if it has any bearing on it but the last Light Brahma chick I got was a nice bright solid yellow and this one I got today is a grey/yellow mix.

All my Brahma babies have quite pronounced leg feathers at hatching and that has even applied to Brahma crosses.

SanctusPullus, if it has no leg feathering---it's not a Brahma. Down color on a hatchery bird is really not a good indicator.
