My Brahmas are here! I'm amazed at how tame and docile this guys are especially after getting shipped all the way from WA to TX. Here is the cockerel. He's 8 months old and already 9.3lbs:

Opinions and feedback on him? I'll try to get some pics of the pullet to post too...

Makes me hope that one of my brahma chicks will be a roo. Gosh, the brahma roosters are so regal looking to me.

Gotta be hereditary. Very interesting.

I wonder if someone could develop a breed with that trait... I bet people would pay a pretty penny for a breed with an oddball trait like that... I mean, just look how many people love silkies(weirdest chickens ever, IMHO)...

No no.. Naked Necks have to be the weirdest ;)

I purchased this pair of LF Light Brahmas a week and a half ago at a show. They are young, Aug or Sept hatches. I really like them, such calm dispositions. I am thinking about purchasing a second or third pair as well. What do you all think??? I welcome any feedback on the birds thank you.

A 2nd pic.

Look to have good size and color. The pullet shows good quality of feather. To be honest, not really loving the cockerels head . If you are thinking of getting more, I believe I would try to bring in some good wide skulls. Do like the pullet..

More pics!

The cockerel, "Latrice":

And the pullet, "Jiggly":

Bonus big, fluffy Brahma butts:

The earlier shots you posted just of the cockerel gave me the impression he might be on the small side. Liking these shots better . The first thing that catches my eye here is the nice wide upside down U shape of the tail both birds show.
