Just got my brahmas washed for the fair. They need their nails and beaks trimmed though. My rooster's legs don't look the greatest though. It still looks like he has scaly leg mites but there is no way he does. Fair is the seventh and so far I feel prepared. Can't wait for fair.

Where's the pictures? I want to see them

These are the two brahmas I will be showing at the county fair. There are only 99 projects as far as chickens are concerned. Last year all but two exhibitors had hatchery birds so I think my chances are good.

Probably the crapiest one in Ohio. The Ashatbula county fair in Jefferson. We just got a new small animal barn this year. A huge up grade from the old lean to we had. I also will be showing two nigerian dwarf goats. If any wants to come and bid on my market chickens that's fine by me

Could someone help with knowing who or how to buy brahma eggs. I have had bad luck on getting fertile eggs. I have 2 separate hatches going now. The first batch has only 50% developing and the second batch only has 1 out of 5 developing. They were really clear for brown eggs, no veins, no blood rings. When I cracked a couple open, they have a white dot not the doughnut looking spot on them.

My hatches are from different sellers, ebay and on here.

Should I be asking the people specific questions before purchasing?
Or is it just the luck on getting fertile eggs?
Or is it just the breed?

I already have 4 brahma hens and would like more. Oh, and this is the only breed I have.

It's possible they left the coop in that condition, but more likely a result of shipping conditions/treatment. Letting the eggs rest for a day before starting incubation is said to help.

Don't believe it has anything to do with being Brahma.
