Now the mature cock in the British link shows some green sheen in the tail, so maybe not.

MonsterClucker, I guess my response sounded a little, let's say, .....pugnacious. The comments I read about these birds being above projects, which they may well be, may have got my feathers up some.

I love your birds and you worked hard, you can ruffle up fine! lol

How does this young guy look to any of you? I have a cockral at home already, but my friend has this one and can't keep him because she lives in the city.

Hopefully their better than crackles brahmas. I got 15 buff brahmas about a month ago. Now I only have 4 buffs and 1 gold laced looking Brahma that's definitely not a buff. But all the other ones that died were just super small and didn't want to grow. Even now I have one that all feathered in but it the same size as when it came. Lol. It's hilarious because he's so small, some of his feathers touch the ground because they are about the same length as him lol
Im sure most of the deaths were my fault because I should have separated the smallest ones into another brooder, which they got smashed by the chicks who were growing faster.
Either way I'm sure you'll still enjoy them.
I wish I would have ordered a mix of buff, light, dark Luke you did but the one gold laced that's not a real gold laced (Lol) is kind of cool, I'm pretty sure its a boy so I don't know if I'm going to keep him or not, but he might be something special to breed with down the road.
Ya never know!

I can verify that when I get my American Brahma Club newsletter there is in fact a Tim Lindenborn listed among the officers. Now wether the poster Tim63 is in fact the same person I can not verify, having never met either in person.  In fact I secretly suspect this poster may actually be someones 12 year old daughter who is getting online and pulling an elaborate hoax on all of us.

Now I can only speak for myself, but about the only breed related threads I post on are here are, Brahma threads, and sometimes Cornish related threads, I would have no bussiness pretending I knew enough about most breeds to offer anything constructive on them.

Now I can say, I can't remember this Tim63 who ever he/she may actually be, ever posting any bogus information on here.  If you go far enough back in this thread there are a couple discussions that Tim may in fact be the finest example of grumpy old fart in captivity today, he did take exception to the old part.

So in closing, ladies and genlemen of the jury, I ask you to look past the sometimes gruff, to the point style, of Tim here, lighten up and take advantage of his willingness to promote and educate you about the majestic Brahma. And let me say, I put a lot more stock in his opinion/advise than just about anybody on this thread.

Haha funny..

I fell in love with my Cackle LB chicks last spring (now almost hens) and it spurred me into more Brahmas

Now I have Silver Gold Buff also and youngest i ahve left five of ten 7 week old LB chicks from eggs from someone on BYC... maybe Big DAWG?
Anyway they are from show quality parents Aside I adore them SOOO gentle since they were born.My best chicks

3 i am pretty sure are roos but just going by their comb color and its size thicker than the other 2 and pink as opposed to pale pale pink.
I dont know they are for a fact...just guessing. .

Anyway how can i tell for sure if they are roos or can i at this age ?
Also I want to keep one roo.....at what age should i make that choice?
Can i tell anything yet?
When do they get their adult feathers?

I'd put up a pic but doesnt seem to be any icons on this reply.
Been having BYC tec problems lately

Also just put palomino brahama eggs in my bator and wondered did the color derive from Buffs but the black allele missing ?
What is the story on the color?

That would be my quess, columbian pattern, with dominant white covering the black trim. I have had birds that look somewhat similiar, but were splash columbian with maybe a deeper red base color.
