hi,
i have put eggs in the incubator of my white leghorn,
i've seen her being mated by my light brahma rooster,
its funny watching because he is so big that he has to
put his legs on each side of her to do the deed
lol.png

any way, i was wondering if anyone has ever had this cross
and if anybody know if the pullets will lay well, broodyness, etc...

i am hoping you can help (i candled tonight and 2 out of 3 of her eggs were fertile)
thank you in advance for any info,

luke.

I got a fertilized egg from a friend, the mom is a white leghorn, the first picture, the dad is a Brahma bantam, picture in the center and the last picture is Marco, their baby, Now that he is about six months old he is a beautiful rooster. He got his mother's color and the pea comb and feathers on his legs from the dad.

hope some one awnsers,
btw, i didnt really know were to post this, is this the right place?

yes this is the right place to put this thread
thumbsup.gif

i think the offspring would be a large white bird with a little bit of dark leakage in the tail, saddle, and the hackles

Nearly all White Leghorns are dominant white so the chicks should be mostly white with maybe some black dots on them. Pea combs is dominant over single so the chicks should be pea combed. And leg feathering is also dominant so they should have some degree of leg feathering as well.

thank you,
do you know if they will be good layers?
begonia is a very good layer.

They should be with White Leghorns being great layers and then adding hybrid vigor to that, they should be good layers of light brown/ creme colored eggs.

thanks for all the info!
thats all i wanted to know.
i will post pics when they hatch, on the 15th
