Brain Freeze! ETA: It's Finished! Final Pics

It's beautiful! I have that red fabric with stars and swirls in red, blue, purple, and a little gold. It was given to me by a lady in El Paso who is cleaning out her house to move.

Great work Cynthia.

Too bad about the fabrics running out on your order. Glad they made good on their mistake.
I make flannel throws for babies by rolling a hem on all four sides of a piece of flannel. That makes a great size for a bundling cloth.

Surely someone will be able to use those Christmas fabrics. Pillowcases made from them would also make great gift sacks....or aprons...or.....

You know what is weird about this situation with Thousandsofbolts? The order online was down to just three items they had to send out to me out of about eleven. When I opened the envelope (which had a weird P.O. sticker saying that due to heightened security, it was returned to the sender

), most everything I ordered was there! How odd is that? The cost on the invoice is about half of what it was originally. Can't complain about that, but I'm wondering if that is really what they charged my credit card.

the problem with shipping charges are......

they charge handling, that is hidden, not appart of the postal cost at all, it is them gathering the fabrics and boxing them up, they have to pay some one wages to do that as well as the box and tape supplies, including the ink from printing out shipping labels.

They sent it in a flat rate envelope and the invoice says that's all they charged. They didn't charge for it to be sent a second time, so I'm quite pleased, if a little confused at how it all worked out.

They have never charged me shipping and handling and I've been ordering for many years.
If a fabric isn't included, they usually subtract it from the total at the bottom. The dollar amount on the billing copy as Total will be what shows up on your card.

I like being able to choose the lowest mailing rate too. I chose USPS for delivery today at $!0.95 instead of $13 for UPS
I put in an order on "shorts". Found several pieces of the wide width fabrics in 28 and 30 inch cuts. These will make great long borders for some full size quilts with plenty to cut for pieces for blocks. Then I also found a nice selection of 42 inch wide shorts in tone on tone for three other projects.

Have you decided on a backing fabric or was it included in the kit?

The fabric on the bottom of this stack is the backing, which was included. Actually, the 3 yd piece of that that came with the kit is in the plastic bag behind it-- I already had that same print in my stash as well as the small gold print on the top, coincidentally.
