I enjoy going to cattle auctions in person, but we don't have cable or a dish so I've never watched them on TV.

That looks like breakfast at our house. Love the cattle also. Only a little over a week until we start seeing new little faces.

I need some of Miss Prissy's breakfast to help me get through the next couple of months.

We shouldn't start seeing any little ones for about another month. It''s always good to see those cute new calves again.

I'm moving to Katy's house and being a farmhand !!! Trying to talk DH into buying a heifer calf this coming summer and pasturing her with the small herd in the back meadow!! Wish me luck!!

I am curious to know how much beef your family consumes. 2 - 3 beeves a year?

Daddy had cows and we had such good beef growing up.

It's only me and the hubby at home now so one is plenty. The kids "steal" some of it and I think we'll probably start butchering enough for all 4 families to split up.

Your family is very fortunate! I would love some home raised beef in my freezer.
