Breast blisters and cut up wing tips

Eddie's flock needs to have a necropsy on the next chicken to die. Too many unexplained illnesses and deaths. If any one chicken is failing to improve with treatments and is declining instead, can be taken to the state lab and turned over alive to have the lab put her down and do the necropsy and get some answers.

I will look at my chicken calendar in a second, right now I am ordering things and am wondering what the chicken cleaner is, I believe it’s hydro chlorhexide...??? I have no idea but the thing I always see you suggesting to clean wounds with.

Right now can I use providone iodine?
Yes, you can use the Povidone Iodine.

Chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) is the other you are thinking of, but the Iodine will work well too.

Are all of these hens older hens like 7,8,9 + years of age? Sometime all these things can be age related too. Not that you shouldn't offer supportive care, but age can have a lot of bearing on some of these issues.

The one thing I have noticed is that many die from ascites as a symptom but I only have Eddie and Dev left and, although I would like to know if they do have anything contagious, I would rather not let them be necropsied.

Thank you for giving me the name. Which hens are you asking about? I only have Eddie and Dev that are still alive from my flock.

Well we got a big issue....

So eddies breast blister has been healing and the scab looked ready to come off so I flicked it a little with my nail, when I did that... all of this yellow liquid started coming out hard! It was a ton of liquid coming out consistently and then there were quite a few pus balls that came out too. Wow, I thought it would be healed up....
I think it’s my own mistake, it could be pus and infection but I doubt it, last time, when I was cleaning it will saline solution and neosporin, I thought it was weird that it was going into her, like if I tried to pack neosporin in, it would go IN. I guess it was living in her for awhile now??? More than two weeks....

I feel horrible, is this a bad sign? We have already made the point that I just gave her baytril but with this... this seems pretty dangerous.

The wound has some skin already healing it up. I put some iodine on a towel and gently cleaned it and put neosporin on the top layer and nothing more than that

I attached photos, I think it was way too much to be pus
