Breda Fowl thread

I bought eggs from ebay. I had 6 out of 9 hatch, and 2 that didn't were my fault my incubator humidity dropped too low and they got shrink wrapped. By the time I opened them up it was too late. Came all the way from Cali to NC and got here in less than 48 hours.
Seller was "polybiss" He/She doesn't have any listed right now, but keep checking back because an auction for them just ended.

I ordered from the same person and Im in CT! I had an awesome hatch also. I had 9 out of 11! Unfortunatley 4-5 died within a month after hatch but I think it was the brooder conditions(plastic tote in a humid cold cellar). I have changed that since then. I was left with 5 blues anyways which Im happy with.

I got my chicks from the seller Polybiss. He sent me 12 and I hatched out 7. I am asking here, because I just had 3 go missing. Something got them I'm sure.

My 6 are still in the brooder inside (we have a 3rd bathroom downstairs I turned the bathtub into my brooder with pine bedding and an infrared heat lamp haha).
But I had 4-6 week old pullets disappearing out of my coop with no trace at night.
Took ALL my Isbars and my blue marans over 3 nights. Finally started locking the little ones in a hutch at night (the bigger ones on the higher roost were never bothered). Based on lack of feathers/damage just the missing chicks the consensus on here was it was a snake. I have traps out there but haven't caught anything. Fortunately no more have gone missing in the past 2 weeks I've been putting them in the hutch.

White IS one of the recognized Breda varieties in Europe, but Blue/Black/Splash are the only colors in the USA. Ray C. does the UK have all the recognized colors? I would love to see post of other colors.
