Hi all! I'm just wondering about the breeds of my two ducklings. The breeder had many different breeds, so they could be mixes (he had Runners, Rouens, Saxony ducks, Appleyards, Buffs, Pekins, Cayugas, Welsh Harlequins and Blue Swedish, I believe, and possibly others). He thought the brown duckling was a Rouen, and the grey and white duckling a Saxony, but I'm not so sure. They are roughly 4-5 weeks of age; the grey and white duckling quacks, so I believe it to be female. The smaller brown duck is still cheeping. Ultimately, I don't particularly care what they are (they're pretty much pets)--I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for the help!

Maybe a Mallard then they look identical except for size. And loking at pics makes it hard to determine size. Looks to be size ofyourSwede?

A little bit smaller than the Swede. Could be a difference in age.

We have an Appleyard as well that's a bit older--similar to the Rouen, he's a large breed of duck. The rate of growth was just way more notable in our Appleyard, which makes me think Rouen is wrong....could it be a Buff or Khaki?

Mallard like wild strain Mallard?

What strikes us most about the brown duckling is his/her erect posture--kind of like a Runner, but I think he/she is too large to be a Runner.
