Edited to add I see a bunch of boys.

DANGIT! I was gonna say that too!!!!

Yep..all look like cockerels!

I think I will probably just keep the EEer cockerel... any ideas for getting rid of the white leghorns? I just don't think I want to be the one to cook them.

I think we have a local farmer's livestock auction on Tuesdays. Is that what you mean?

Are leghorns good to eat? We do have a slaughterhouse very nearby.

The older ones are EE hens.

The colored ones are young but i imagine theyre leghorns, theyre henish looking to me.

Didnt realize there were new pictures.

I still think theyre hens. Although the first looks awful rooish.

Iam not a leghorn fan. I'd just eat them.

So you think there is hope that they are pullets? I would want to keep them if they are. Eating white eggs wouldn't bother me:)

At what age do they start to crow?

You will know for certain around 6 months of age. They'll either lay an egg or crow.

All chickens are good to eat. Leghorns were just bred for egg production. With that egg production, meat production went down. The "slimmer" the bird, the better the egg laying capabilities. The heavier the bird, the less the egg production is. (General terms.)

the light *ee* is a cockeral, the other one could be a pullet, how old are they? I * the ee because they don't seem to have a muff/beard but they have a pea comb and green legs. I wonder if they were crossed with a clean faced breed

I don't know how old they are. I bought them from someone who goes to church with us. She said that she bought them at our local livestock auction as Americaunas.
