LOL. thanks. The pens shown are pens 3-6. Pens 1-2 are growout pens, and are to the left of the pens in the photo. 1 & 2 are inside the main run, and have creep gates. Not sure how I'll number the two big breeding pens when they are finished...lumber should arrive this saturday.

Just put sand in my breeder pens.
Put a weed mat underneath to obviously stop weeds but also help stop the sand washing away into the dirt and mud.

Also note that the breeder house will be able to roostup to about 15-20 birds, or up to 10 breeders at a time each. Though I will probably only be doing 6-8 hens and one rooster in each pen. The third pen in phase 3 is for turkeys, though I could also use it for chickens if I found myself in that position.

Those are lovely! Do you have problems with snow blowing into your breeder pens? Or do you tarp them up in the winter?
